Sort of funny story

When we moved in like September, we had to live in a hotel for 2 or 3 weeks while waiting on closing. So I forwarded our mail to Sweet Dee's house of toe sucking and pud spanking ( if you've kept up with Quentin Tarantino this week, that makes sense).
Anyway... I apparently never switched the water bill back to the new address. I honestly thought I had signed up for auto draft and didnt give it a second thought... until they came out and shut off our water today.

The good thing is, if you ever get in a money bind, you can go 9 months without paying your water bill before they shut it off.

Good Lord. Charles Bronson FTW.

Inexplicably, that sets Bronson talking “I’ve been trying to make it with girls for as long as I can remember,” he says. “I remember my first time. I was five and a half years old, and she was six. This was in 1928 or 1929. It happened at about the worst time in my life. We had been thrown out of our house . . .”

The house was in Ehrenfeld, known as Scooptown, and it was a company house owned by the Pennsylvania Coal and Coke Company. When the miners went out on strike, they were evicted from their homes, and the Buchinsky family went to live in the basement of a house occupied by another miner and his eight children. “This would have been the summer before I started school,” Bronson says. “I remember my father had shaved us all bald to avoid lice. Times were poor. I wore hand-me-downs. And because the kids just older than me in the family were girls, sometimes I had to wear my sisters’ hand-me-downs. I remember going to school in a dress. And my socks, when I got home sometimes I’d have to take them off and give them to my brother to wear into the mines.

“But, anyway, this was a Fourth of July picnic, and there was this girl, six years old. I gave her some strawberry pop. I gave her the pop because I didn’t want it; I had taken up chewing tobacco and I liked that better. I didn’t start smoking until I was nine. But I gave her the pop, and then we . . . hell, I never lost my virginity. I never had any virginity.”

Just.... wow. Is this unethical or immoral or amoral ???

Worst Idea. Ever.

Westboro Baptist Church wackos to protest Jackass star Ryan Dunn's funeral. Despite the fact that I've never seen a Jackass show or movie, I will be paying for any cinematic adventures that Johnny Knoxville organizes at the church's expense.

Original Green Lantern script treatment by the guy who does Triumph the Comedy Dog... starring Jack Black

Instead of Hal Jordan, the hero is Jud Plato, a slovenly Ikea employee who is chosen by the power ring because he ate a raw coyote head on Fear Factor. If that’s all it takes to be fearless enough for the Lantern Corps, Gary Busey should have all the power rings by now. All of them.
Jud uses the ring to create green elves, maids, and models to wait on him. The maids are all Hispanic for some reason. He conjures a sassy black woman to yell at a villain for him. It’s all very mature.
Kilowog comes to Earth, eats at the Olive Garden, and goes on a drunken bender. In fairness, you’d need to go on a drunken bender to enjoy the Olive Garden.
At one point, a yellow asteroid is headed towards Earth, so Jack Black just moves Earth out of the way, triggering a bunch of natural disasters. So then he uses his mind bullets power of will to conjure a green Superman to fly around the Earth and reverse time, reversing the natural disasters. Yes, he brings back one of the lamest parts of the Christopher Reeves Superman movies.
Part of Sinestro’s enslavement of Earth includes giving a cat the same mustache as he has and forcing humans to wear matching outfits from Nordstrom. So evil.
iFanboy sums up the madness succinctly: “I never needed to see Xax talking about getting laid. The ring projects an act involving Elmo and Barbara Walters’ breasts that I will not describe even if you e-mail me privately.” [emphasis mine]

ASIP should be... interesting

especially with "Fat Mac"

Five word review of "Game of Thrones"

Rocks your fucking socks off.

My most favorite 100% enjoyed part of everything was the complete lack of flashbacky bullshit -- especially when people die, there's no 300 or Gladiator bullshit of walking through fields of wheat. Fuck that -- if you dont listen to exposition, you got NO idea WTF is going on.

Anyway -- get your shit together and get HBO -- or I'll start putting episodes in my dropbox & anyone can grab them whenever & watch on xbox or pc or burn to dvd.

Fucking. Rocks.
Beeches.

Green Lantern reviews - save your time & money

“Even by the standards of the current run of mediocre comic-book movies, this one stands out for its egregious shoddiness.” -Dana Stevens, Slate

“Even in the brainless world of cinematic comic books gone bad, it’s as bad as it gets — a dumb, pointless, ugly, moronic and incomprehensible jumble of botched effects, technical blunders, and cluttered chaos.” -Rex Reed, NY Observer

“Green Lantern is a new primer on how not to make a comicbook movie unless you want to screw sh*t up. Flat FX, smirky acting, clunky writing and clueless direction. WTF?” -Peter Travers, RS

Went to a Phish show last night.

Wild scene. Like a hippie and hipster carnival. Best part was a couple in our group had a fully restored '65 VW bus.

Not much to report in the music department; kind of...eh (first set was good, second set got a little ponderous for me).

Second best part, no rain.

Strangely, the craziest hippie dancing during the entire evening was by the obvious frat boys...that part was kind of weird (second craziest was the dredded out hippie girls in the hemp dresses, ldo).

The crowd was also really, really, really into throwing glow sticks.

anyone interested in backyard water elements?

I dug a 70 gallon horse trough about 10 inches into the ground (about 25 above ground) and set a 50 gallon about 14 inches up on blocks above it. Used the dirt from the inset to fill around the blocks to lower the whole "you might be a redneck" look of it and direct runoff water around both.

I made DIY bulkheads from schedule 40 pvc and set a pump in the 70 to lift water about 30 inches through one bulkhead 1" below the lip and a second bulkhead was set an inch lower and was fitted with an elbow that takes a hose nozzle back to the 70.

The 70 is only about half full so the turtles can't climb out so the entire system has about 70-75 gallons of water in it right now. I'll rig a line from the daisy chain spout on the rain barrel to top off the tank/change water with every rainfall.

The 70 has a drain at the bottom fitted with a rising PVC section that'll drain when the water inside reaches the top of the PVC section. In the winter, when the turtles are back in my classroom, I'll couple a second section of PVC to allow the 70 to near completely fill, providing the goldfish with a deep pool that shouldn't freeze over.

I will probably add one other pool (maybe just a five gallon bucket filled with stones) as a physical bio filter. It would sit a hair higher than the 50 so that the pump in the 70 would lift it to the filter and then the filter would drain to the 50. and the 50 . . .

I'll mulch the entire surrounding and add some container plants around it to cover the hoselines, etc.

One of these days, I'll snap some photos too.

I'm liking horsetroughs much better than those preform liners. They're probably a hair cheaper and they are much more versatile.

Both ponds will have Anacharis (Elodea), water lettuce and duckweed as well to help cycle the water to go along with the turtles in the 70 and large goldfish in the 50. I'll probably put guppies in both to eliminate mosquito potential, although the turtles have proven fairly adept predators in the glass tank in my classroom

I just checked on them and they are both on the overturned pots I placed as basking spots in the 70.

Anyone want to come over and pound my tire???

So the wife got me a couple tires for my birthday, and I went out and got a sledge hammer today ( thanks Russ & Kesia!) and let me say, banging away on a tire for a half hour is fucking exhausting.

Good times!!!

Ummmm so the wife found this out back

So I called RPD and showed the cop THIS article about the previous owners.
When the cop saw the basement he was like "I'm gonna take this over to the hospital NOW... if this aint a dog bone, we're PROBABLY gonna have to jack hammer all this up"

Awesome.

GOOD NEWS !!!
Its a cow bone / dog chew toy.

"Go the fuck to sleep", as read by Jules.

Remember back in the day ...

I believe it was @ Judy Halek's wedding where I was a wee bit tipsy & hitting on some chick from Texas where I coined the phrase
" I aint leavin' till I fuck something!"

Well, times have definitely changed -- now, the party ends @ 9 PM & I leave all the fucking to Boing and go to bed.

My son is hilarious

I took Cam out for a walk this afternoon. It was balls assed hot, and the hope was to get him to somehow take a nap -- he'd been up all day, short naps, not eaten a thing, cranky and whiny.
All in all, didnt have high expectations.

So he had a good time, pointing out birds ( we saw a goldfinch) and a couple rabbits and a praying mantis. About 60% of the way, just after turning around, he started nodding off. Just a little head bobbing, eyes closing a few times.

Then we get to about 2/3 , about to cross the road and this really attractive woman came down from her neighborhood, turned onto the greenway right ahead of us.

Cam perked up and stared at her ass the ENTIRE way home. No birds. No squirrels. No rabbits. Ass.

I really thought about using the phone to get footage of him. Too funny.

Woo hoo!!!!

Woo hoo !!!!

This looks fantastic!

Ahead of the Game on Off-Network, Never Heard of it Television Programming (again)

I've said it a few times, I'll say it again, "Men of a Certain Age" is a quality show. Watch it. I've noticed television critics - especially the rags directed at hipsters that grew up and quit taking themselves too seriously - begin to say it's a great show. TNT on Wednesday nights.

Dear lord I'm so flipping exhausted

So the wife & kid have both been sick since Wednesday. I was off Thur & Friday and owned the kid 4 days straight, wake until sleep. It absolutely kicked my ass so bad -- I have zero energy left. He's been sleeping only about 1/2 his normal nap times, even with benadryl & meds. Just killing me.
The only thing I can think of is the first couple weeks after he was born, with the waking/sleeping like every 2 hours.
