Sort of like in Animal House where Bluto spills mustard on himself ... if the RearAdmir0l were a coke head and mustard was shame.

Maybe the funniest thing I've ever said.
There was a major outage in the Rochester NY area -- LOTS of tickets generated. Mild craziness.
After troubleshooting and digging around, one of the tech found out this all happened when an Alcatel switch went down.
So he says "At least now we know what to blame this on."
And I say "Blame it on the Al..Al...Al...Al..Alc...Alcatel."
I make myself laugh.

Signed up for doughnuts.
Officially signed up for the race. Everyone else feel free to join in.
A shout out to Dee for throwing support my way. You are most assuredly the man.
First practice run will be a 2.1 mile run to the DD near my house, eat a half dozen then run back. Hopefully that goes ok. Have to prep for 1.37 pounds of KKs.

So much anger.
The wife & I headed out shopping and she dropped me off @ Borders last night.
I go in, toodle around and end up in "My Place" -- sci fi & fantasy section.
Lo and behold, 1/3 of my entire section has been taken over by chick-lit vampire crap.
SOOOOO pissed off.
Its like they didnt even have space for hardcover, new books -- they had to make room for F-ing boy toy vampire dolls.
Luke then dropped the bomb on me that in the books & movies, they dont even catch on fire in the sun. WTF ???? I literally lost my shit and started cursing.

The 919...
I'm gonna be there for the weekend and I need suggestions for beverage concoctions that are sure to erase a few bothersome memories. I'll be crashing at HEP's and will check the blog before making a trip to the ABC/Total Wine for whatever supplies I need to burn off a few brain cells.

23 days in? sugary goodnes training model?
Sidekick, do you have any updates on the five finger experiment? I've started lacing my shoes very losely, forcing the feet to move around a bit. Additionaly, I'm trying to do all my long runs on trails rather than roads. This means lots of laps on the duke XC course (2.9+ mile loop) until I can get a trail map of Duke forest lots along 751. still doing the additional runs along the neighborhood-ish loops.
My new brainstorm to extend the long distance runs with mostly trail, but not so many loops: drive to dunkin' donuts. run to the Duke XC loop. run back. get coffee and donuts.
Since my goal is mostly cardio/musculoskeletal fitness, not weight control. . . . Best of distance dunkin' with the coffee that fuels america?

Festivus for the Rest of Us
Ok you cunts, who's in for Wednesday @ the alehouse, unless anyone else can think of a cheaper place in North Raleigh to drink and cuss. I believe that it is $2.50 pints.
I hear that RA has some things he needs to get off his chest.
Is there a way to dig up our grievances from last year so we can reflect.
I'm so excited I have a Yule log going on right now.

Who do we know in Michigan?
By the way, I'm posting this now so that the Admir0l has a chance to see it and doesn't tell the related story to his district manager tomorrow morning.

Usual blah blah blah @ work.
Mini Me Brigham(09:03:08): That is nice to know. What a pain.
Kevin Hudson(09:04:08): I believe it was Michael J Fox who said "Life is pain" -- might have been Schopenhauer or Hegel, but I'm going w. MJF
Gee Barger(09:09:04): Life is pain, so live it up while you can.
- Ernest Hemingway
Life is pain and the enjoyment of love is an anesthetic.
- Cesare Pavese
When you understand what you see, you will no longer be children. You will know that life is pain, that each of us hangs always upon the cross of himself. And when you know that this is true of every man, woman and child on earth, you will be wiser.
-Whittaker Chambers
Or my personal favorite:
Buttercup: You mock my pain!
Westley: Life is pain, Highness! Anyone who says differently is selling something
- The Princess Bride
Kevin(09:09:48): I KNEW it was some young, handsome, virile strapping blond gentleman.

all i want for xmas
...Is my music back. Long story short my computer got wiped. I am scared to sync my ipod with my computer now because it may erase my current 6 days of music. Anyone know how I can get my tunes on my ipod back on my computer? I tried searching briefly last night on itunes help but all I see is a way to move songs that I purchased. I did this in hopes that it would be cool and move everything over. No dice. I hate to think that all the music that I have downloaded since 2000 is gone now.

Run 2!
Alrighty, did 1.5 miles or so today, probably going to stick with that distance until I feel like I can run it "properly".
1) The shoes still look really weird (note: not actually me).

2) I actually need to learn how to run. I vacillate between terrible heel striking and toe running; I need to find a happy medium. I started to find a groove near the end, but I think my form got sloppy due to fatigue.
3) I'm guessing that I'm going to be sore tomorrow in my calves. I really tried to focus on hitting that forefoot in the last half of the run, which stretched my calves something good (the first half of the run, I pounded my heel into the ground like I was Dirk Diggler, probably a mistake).
4) I feel like I'm flying when I'm running, which is pretty awesome. Hit the big hill on Haymarket on my run home, and I just hopped up it with no problems. Once my cardio gets up to snuff, these should be really fun.
5) Now, I just need to get out into the wilderness, or more likely, onto a trail. Might happen on Thursday, barring catastrophic failure on my part. Gotta get out into the wilderness, like my boys (2 parter here).
