The search for seersucker begins...

So in the past 24 hours my wife and I have been to K&G, DB's, S&K, Mens Wearhouse,Macy's, Belk's, and Dillards and have tried on 3 jackets just trying to find this suit. I wear a 48 extra long jacket which is not the easiest to find. Upon a fitting I found out that I now wear a 52 extra long jacket, which is a negative side effect of working out. The closest we came to finding this suit was at K&G which would have been at a good price too. Jos. A Bank offered to make a suit for me since they do not carry my size but they will apparently make a suit from scratch. Four stores at the mall do not even carry a 52 jacket. Not is seersucker...not in anything. Tomorrow I am calling other Raleigh stores and then I am taking SK and my wife's idea of taking it to the web.

Next obstacle will be shoes.

Transformers Questions?

They're all answered here!

Reflections on Celeb Death

1) They say celebrity deaths come in threes. Leave it to Billy Mays to toss in a fourth one for free.

2) I was watching 40 continuous hours of Micheal Jackson tribute and song and thought to myself, God I hope I die before Barry Manilow.

Worst thing ever.

Sorry if I'm being very scattershot and demanding

It's been a very stressful 3 or 4 days -- my brain is completely fried.
Sarah got REALLY sick on Wednesday, we ended up going to the ER on Thurs, sat for nearly 2 hours, left, went to an Urgent Care who diagnosed the appedicitis, got admited ASAP to the ER -- she was vomiting up everything and so she couldnt keep down her pain pills, and the (what turned out to be) stomach flu vomiting & cramps were causing a negative feedback kind of thing on her back

VERY roller coast couple of nights -- she is feeling much better

Anyway - not to be coy and evasive, but as I mentioned in my TM, I would appreciate if we could all get together @ the Fox & Hound tomorrow around 1 -- they dont take reservations, so whoever gets there first, try getting a couple tables outside for 12-ish folks.

Thanks again -- and in case anyone besides the 'Uar was wondering, no, there will be no uncomfortable situations.

"Pwned at last, pwned at last"

Set of weights from your brother = Free
1 month supply of Protein shakes = $27
Working out 4X/week in your garage during a typical NC summer = HARD

Having your nemesis show up while you are bouncing and looking fucking huge and then you punk his ass and have him and his lady leave = PRICELESS

Too soon?

Ed, MJ, Farrah? Not Stella too?

Stella is my green truck, my primary vehicle.

So I made another foray to the gym tonight. I noticed the battery warning light during the drive home. It's about 3-4 miles from the gym to my house. By the time I was halfway home, I was losing display lighting. Turning off of Duke Street onto Stadium, it was clear my lights were gone. I slowed down approaching the driveway and it died, 15 feet from the driveway.

I checked the battery - 12.2 volts. I scrubbed the terminals - there was some corrosion on the positive lead, but nothing major.

I called my dad, who never mastered interpersonal relationships but is a damned whiz at all things construction and mechanical. He advised me to leave the battery disconnected, giving the on board computer time to reset. I left it alone for half an hour and drank a PBR.

I came back reconnected the battery - did you know that I can't get a right fit from a standard metric OR SAE socket on that damn thing? Still reading 12 volts.

Put the key in the ingnition, lights etc are back. Dim, but back. Door ajar light and buzzer on as well.

I turned the crank and all I got was clickety^3. Then the volt needle on the dash started dropping.

Had my dad on the line during the cranking, he thinks the solenoid in the starter is out. Don't know if he's right, but will have it towed to mechanic tomorrow, breaking even on our AAA membership for another year.

I now regret considering the next car a few weeks ago as Stella obviously found out about it and is giving up on me.

forgot to call the manhole crew

I built the patio frame today. My dad was around and was actually VERY helpful getting the frame square and level. It's a 10x10 platform 3 inches off the ground on the uphill side and about a 9 inches on the downslope side. I'll be able to fit the grill, a few chairs and citronella candles on it when I'm done!

Now to figure out how to frame a canvas so I can use the borrowed projector outdoors? I may just borrow my screen from school too and build a frame to hold it?

1 Step closer to annulment

So I've gathered up all my necessary paperwork and I'm going in for interviews soon.
From what I understand, I will have to provide "character witnesses" to attest to how they felt about my former wife & our relationship. Please dont hold back.

our view from the faculty section

Please note the giant fucking column between us and the dais.

Fairly big news

Nothing earth shattering or surprising, but apparently taking a day off was a good thing.

Anyone who wants to go up to the mountains the weekend of July 18th is more than welcome to join in the festivities.

For you diamond junkies:
Rectangular Radiant F color, SI1 clarity, Very good cut

Enjoy.

Very fun evening --- thanks to all

Had a blast -- I really think teaching makes one a very good standup comedian, cause even though I was quite drunk, I still think I was funnier than most of the guys we saw last night.

Maybe the funniest fake song I've ever invented

We were talking about Arnold & his movies, and one guy mentioned "Apollo Creed" -- and I was like "He does have a real name, you know"

So I started singing Billy Joel's "He's Always Apollo to Me" and I have to say, it was damn near perfect.

Happy Birthday to me!

Lesson learned -- my tummy cannot handle the yummy goodness of margaritas anymore

Beeches

thoughts on kegs

So buying a keg of sierra nevada may have been a bit ambitious. I thought I drank a lot so far I have had three and a half pints and am feeling pretty buzzed. Questions going through my mind right now are as follows:
How long is this going to take me and wife to go through?
Am I an alcholic for buying a keg on a monday?
How awesome is this summer going to be?
When am I going to grow up?
If this was miller lite instead of sierra nevade how many more pints would I have consumed by now?

They've thrown down the gauntlet, now we have to strike!

Texts from last night

(919): What are we going to do tonight?
(704): What we try to do every night. Take over the world 3

(847): this wart on my finger ripped off while i was fingering this girl the other night. she thought she had gotten her period and started crying so i went with. its better for both of us that way

(704): Awkward is getting caught beating off in the company bathroom...

(269): So I pulled my t-shirt down, pushed my boobs up and marched right into that church!

(704): you dont want to live with me, im always naked, a chronic masturbator, a bit of a voyeur and will likely touch you while you sleep. ps- i can pick locks

(814): Donna and I are betting on whether or not you are going to cheat on your boyfriend tonight....I said you wouldnt do it.
(610): You might as well just give her the money now.

(919): Oh fyi, I gave your card to a homeless guy last night and told him you were the world's hottest blonde girl who only likes black men...Sorry

(530): No, veal is cruel because they chain them down, I'm talking about free range human babys here.

(919): Can i not drive my cunt home

(765): It's more exciting when they aren't single....and even better when you have to pretend that you just slept with their roommate while trying to do the walk a shame as their girlfriend comes marching into the apt.
(1-765): Im not the least bit jealous of the life you lead.

(209): HOW IN THE HELL DID YOU BLOW A .24?????
(606 ): We were watching I'm a celebrity get me out of here and taking shots every time heidi said HALLELUJAH, and started spraying her hair with that stupid dry shampoo shit....and we only watched the last half hour.

(212): i want you now
(916): you need to stop dating girls with the same name as your mother...or stop drinking so much...I don't want to see this

Updates and whatnot

Busy busy busy

Man-holing & Trivia this evening.
Meeting w. priest tomorrow about getting an annulment, then probably NOT going dancing
This weekend, should be running 6 miles on Sat & going home on Sunday
Apparently I have a birthday next week -- anyone up for a Not Luck on Wednesday instead of trivia ?
I'll most likely be taking that next Thursday off, so anyone who wants to come to the pool, just let me know.

Still trying to come up with a weekend that works for going to the mountains.
July 11, 18 and 25 are really our only options, and it looks as if the 18th would work best.
I need RSVPs, beeches.
It looks as if HEP & the QoC are in for a Vegas trip on the weekend of Sept 11th ish -- anyone else ???

Also, I'm REALLY close to getting a ski boat. I figure with all the free time we have, we can go skiing ALL the time

Just When AIG Couldn't Sound Any Worse

They go and claw back $490 million from their charitable organization in order to pay executives bonuses. It's pretty much exactly how it sounds except the details make it even more unseemly.

The former CEO set up an off the books, off shore fund to give long time AIG execs an extra bonus, entirely off the books. Two years ago, the fund had about $20 billion in it. But the founder of the fund and former AIG CEO was canned a few years back and, to get even, he turned the fund into a charitable organization. Well, as of this week, he decided it's time to pay the execs a little more so he's withdrawing all promises the fund made. Including asking for the return of $27 million the carities already have in pocket.

Bad taste indeed.
