So I had this tingling in the back of my head, trying to remember a movie from my very very very young days -- all I remembered was a "superbus" and that someone was in an iron lung.

Critical problems in education:

So a student in a colleague's 3rd period class was caught using a cell phone during a quiz. The teacher takes the phone (as per published policy regarding cell phone usage in class). The student had actually finished the quiz and was texting on another topic entirely.

Rhetorically, the teacher posed the question: Would you rather take a zero on the quiz and get your phone at the end of class OR just wait until the end of the day to pick up the phone?

The student was willing to accept the zero on the quiz to get the phone back immediately.

This reminds me of the Onion headline "tests unfairly biased against students who don't give a shit."

Apparently I've made it through life without ever seeing "Dirty Dancing " and "Rocky Horror Picture Show". The wife has "Glee" on DVR, and they're doing RHPS -- granted , John Stamos is awesome, but I just dont get it.

I tried to read the Wiki page on RHPS and it just doesnt make sense. Am I the only one ???

Friday night I'm in the kitchen and look out on the deck -- there's a friggin' raccoon!!!
Honestly, I've never seen one alive before, so I was quite excited.

Then yesterday, I look out the front door and there's 3 deer eating crap in the front yard.

Neat stuff.

So when I saw this being built, my first thought....

was that I'd be less surprised if an ancient, huge red dragon showed up rather than that bridge being "real". Its truly the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
