I might be like YEARS behind on this

Your Thoughts Please

So the Q2 GDP was revised upward to a level that indicates strong growth in the economy. The reason is rebate checks and exports. Your thoughts please? Does anyone stand in a place where they honestly believe the economy grew at a strong and healthy rate between April and June?

THIS MUST BE SHARED!!!!

Since only the Sidekick ever goes to Filmdrunk, I gotta share this with my peeps:

The Foggy Monocle is a site that posts instant messager conversations submitted by users. Today they have a delightful dialogue between a girl and her friend, to whom she recounts her first date, to a screening of The Dark Knight. Suffice to say, it went well.

And... ACTION!!!

BatGirl: so, that guy… the friend of the friend, with the creepy moustache?
CatWoman: yeah? the one you met at Anton’s* place?
BatGirl: hahahahaha. yes. vladimer*.
BatGirl: so, he finally got the balls to ask me out on a proper date
CatWoman: way to finally man up..
BatGirl: and, seeing as my love life has been lackluster of late, to say the least
BatGirl: i agreed.
CatWoman: what did he plan for you kids?
BatGirl: we went to see the dark knight.
CatWoman: typical… blahhhhh
BatGirl: christian bale….heath ledger…i could think of worst things
BatGirl: followed by drinks and lively conversation
BatGirl: and more drinks
BatGirl: i believe irish car bombs were involved. which never lead to good decisions.
CatWoman: they call it a bomb for a reason
BatGirl: oh god yeah they do
BatGirl: so, a few dozen drinks later
BatGirl: and going back to vladimer’s place doesn’t seem like a bad idea
BatGirl: creepy moustache and all
CatWoman: did it tickle?
BatGirl: yes.
BatGirl: now, i should preempt the following segment of the story by saying that he really loved the dark knight.
BatGirl: like, REALLY loved the dark knight.

Enjoy the rest of the action...

Your Thoughts?

I seem to recall that the blog was set up for workouts and tom foolery via the tubes so here goes.

After checking numerous sites today I came up with three answers to the delevoping larger arm (tricep/bicep) and Chest (pestoralis Major and minor) and shoulder (anterior, posterior, and lateral deltoids) muscles question?

A1) Work out your muscles for years and over time (a decade or two) you will see SOME growth.

A2) Do large amounts of back exercises since these generally use the arm, chest, and shoulder muscles ex. Lat pull downs also use the biceps, bent rows work the rhomboids, teres minor, traps and also the biceps. Also that any pressing exercise will work the tricep and most likely the pectoralis muscles - the degree depends on the exercise that is being done. Doing lots of exercises that specifically work the bicep or triceps - curls, tricep extensions do very little as far as strength and size and can actually damage the muscles if you do them continuously.

A3) Do lots of tricep extensions, and curling activities and you will see growth and increased strength.

My current work out at the gym is mostly back exercises anyways just because I have the back issues. I have noticed that if failure occurs it is usually due to bicep or tricep exhaustion so A2 does make some sense. If I do not have time to go to the gym then I will do curls and extensions at home. Due to the back I have to curl light wieght so I am curling and extending 25lbs 25x and usually about 8 - 10 sets per arm for curls and 20x/set and 5-6 sets for extensions. I have noticed a small amount of growth but I am having to increase my number of sets now. I can do over 200 reps per arm and I am still not working out to failure. Moving up in weight is a problem with the back for the time being which I why I am now concentrating on back exersices.

FYI current workout includes the following: seated high rows, seated low rows, one arm lat pull downs, flexions 6 sets of 15, assisted pull ups, assisted dips, hanging straight leg hip raises. I add others in when time permits but I always do these ones.

So your thoughts on the three answers provided? No, I am not getting a Kettlebell.

Self referential navel gazing.

So checking logs from last year, this week:
Summer of Kevin officially over for 1 year today.
I have been reading Moby Dick for 1 year.
I am a lil' bit off on my running compared to last year, but I think my ass kicking week will pay dividends and have me back to par soon.

Otherwise, since school has started back up, I just want to say this was a kind of tame summer. Babies and bouncing, and in the case of Mr. K.M., both --- rim shot! --- sort of had everyone occupied, and call me Susan but I do believe we missed the 'Uar's 30th b-day.

Since trying to herd cats is easier than getting you fuckers organized, how are people's schedules looking for a "Take Back Sept 11th End of Summer Blowout Extravaganza" ? Fuck it. I'm throwing a shindig , and if any of you goony bastards show up, so be it.

Anyone?

Tonight is the premier of I.O.U.S.A. at 8:00. If you go to this (it costs about $10 more than normal) you get to see a live, hour-long commentary and discussion led by Warren Buffet.

Anyone interested?

Well played gentlemen

Im sure Amos would have known the ones we missed.
But if he had been there, we would have had to divvy our swag up, so F Him.

SAN -- I only mention Amos instead of the 'Uar, cause we've actually WON with Amos, while the 'Uar's trivia mettle is still untested.

I Win, I Win, I Win

I beat the construction man. My Harvard lawyer uncle taught me a Jedi mind trick to convince the guy not to appeal. Maybe it was Corleone mind trick.

As you may remember, there were problems with the wording of the judgment where it would be easy for him to appeal. I wanted to change it and the judge was about to rule on it when I made an offer he couldn't refuse. Basically, in exchange for him giving me the money and not appealing, I promise to leave the judge's ruling vague enough that his contract is still valid for other customers. If he appeals and I win, then his contract would suddenly become invalid and he can be sued for up to $5,000 by anyone he ever cheated. I thnk he cheated a lot of people for $1,000 to $3,000.

I guess I'm no longer an Obama-voting idealist, but I get my money back. When the check clears, the first hundo goes to a keg party.

Then I find myself worrying about running out of IP addresses, and I feel better.

And One for the Housing Conspiracy Theorists

Don't know if anyone noticed, but Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac are collapsing pretty good. Freddie is under $4.00 a share and down 94% on the year. Fannie is under $6 a share and down 92%. Several media outlets have also suggested they have negative book values and the government takeover is inevitable.

I think this is a good litmus test for the financial markets. Fannie/Freddie insolvency is an event meant to occur between the Presidential election and Presidential innaguation. If it happens earlier...

Anyhow, I wonder if the National Debt Clock will add the $5 trillion all at once or add it a few dollars at a time.

Here's One for the Commodity Speculator Conspiracy Theorists

Lobster prices, virtually immune from commodity speculation, have steadily decreased in past months. The Slate.com piece suggests the lack of a trading exchange excludes speculators, thus providing the clearest picture of true commodity prices being manipulated.

And if you want to truely delve into the conspiracy theorist world of commodity speculation, check out this SeekingAlpha.com article on gold/silver market speculation. I don't buy into it, but they say The Man knows what's about to happen so they're crushing demand for gold to buy your futures contracts so that no one will ever notice there actually wasn't any gold in the first place. Then, when The Man causes the economic implosion, they'll own all the gold and rule the world. I think this article is a bit on the silly side but I will say that SeekingAlpha.com is a well respected financial blogger with a reputation for publishing articles meant to manipulate the markets.

Funny shit.

Are You Kidding Me? Part II

So I looked more closely at the legal settlement...in addition to inserting the word 'not' they tried to cheat me by mis-stating my name and mis-stating the date. I would think it's unlikely those are material changes, but I really do think they want out of this any way they can! Bastards.

Are You Kidding Me!?

So, as I mentioned earlier, I schooled the construction company's lawyer. I just got the legal judgement I'm supposed to sign and their lawyer actually resorted to inserting the word 'not' before everything the judge said and hoped I sign it. Basically, they changed it from "Construction goons owe Tray Deee $1598" to "Construction goons not owe Tray Deee $1598."

Jeebus these guys are creeps.

Last ones for the night

1. Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The
ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

2. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you,
but don't start anything."

3. Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted.

4. A dyslexic man walks into a bra.

5. A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm and says:
"A beer please, and one for the road."

6. Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other: "Does this
taste funny to you?"

7. "Doc, I can't stop singing 'The Green, Green Grass of Home.'"
"That sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome."
"Is it common?"
Well, "It's Not Unusual."

8. Two cows are standing next to each other in a field. Daisy says to
Dolly, "I was artificially inseminated this morning." "I don't believe
you," says Dolly. "It's true, no bull!" exclaims Daisy.

9. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to
look at either.

10. DejaMoo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.

11. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't
find any.

12. A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted,
"Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!"
The doctor replied, "I know you can't - I've cut off your arms!"

13. I went to a seafood disco last week...and pulled a mussel.

14. What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.

15. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and
says "Dam!"

16. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in
the craft. Unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can't
have your kayak and heat it too.

17. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing
in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about
an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse.
"But why," they asked, as they moved off. "Because", he said, "I can't
stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer."

18. A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes
to a family in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in
Spain; they name him "Juan." Year's later; Juan sends a picture of
himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her
husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband
responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan, you've seen Ahmal."

19. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which
produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very
little which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered
from bad breath. This made him. (Oh, man, this is so bad, it's
good)..... A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

20. And finally, there was the person who sent twenty different puns to
his friends, with the hope that at least ten of the puns would make them
laugh. No pun in ten did.

More goodness.

Do you know how Descartes died?

He sat down at a bar.

Bartender says, "can I get you something?'

Descartes said, "I think not"

Detroit House For $1

A house in downtown Detroit recently sold after just 19 days on the market. Big news because the listing price was $1 and it still took 3 weeks for someone to step up to the plate. There were concerns about financing, but a local woman just cleaned out her couch to finance the deal.

My favorite part of the article is that the bank tried to board up the house. Soon after, a neighbor stole the boards to board up their own house.

grim side of high school sports

My brief interactions with the kid implied that he would fit in fairly well with an Amato coached Wolfpack squad. Not that Tom O team guarantees a cleaner blotter. He 'mentored' some of my more problematic kids last year. Regardless of those times, his passing is a very tragic loss for so many people and will put all local teams on their toes for player safety.

If you went to a college, community college, or university in North Carolina you may want to consider a credit freeze. Half of this I understand. Well... no.

LINKY GOODNESS

Saudi Arabia's religious police have announced a ban on selling cats and dogs as pets, or walking them in public in the Saudi capital, because of men using them as a means of making passes at women, an official said on Wednesday.

Othman al-Othman, head of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Riyadh, known as the Muttawa, told the Saudi edition of al-Hayat daily that the commission has started enforcing an old religious edict.

He said the commission was implementing a decision taken a month ago by the acting governor of the capital, Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz, adding that it follows an old edict issued by the supreme council of Saudi scholars. ...

HFS. SPOLIERS. Dont read if you aren't ready to laugh

So Im taking down Catopia.
All but one of the posts come up REAL easy.

Next post is actually concreted into the ground
So I get my pick axe & shovel and get to work.

About 1 foot down, I swing, hear metal on metal, then hear an aggressive hissing.

Yep.

Cut my gas line.
I ran like a MOTHER FUCKER, cut my main circuit breaker off.
Called 911, for the first time ever.

Luckily, its the line from my main to my water heater, and PSNC should be out here shortly to fix it.

Looks like Thursday is the day...

I got my rain barrels in place. Now it is just a waiting game.

So I might dive back and read about our Civil War

Reading about the War of the Roses.
In one fight, basically the last battle, 2% of the population was on the battlefield.
1/6 of them died in the fighting itself.
An unknown number died (were killed) trying to escape.

If it were today, that would be 6 million people, 1 million dead.
Wow.
BTW -- I appear to be a Yorkist.

Finally got to throw my weight around this week.

Helped hem a guy up on Thursday and I threw out about 7 people in 3 days. I thought that I was going to get to EFF someone up last night but he chose wisely. I think I am finally getting the hang of this bouncing thing.

I may actualy start one of these when school starts back and we get our wilder crew. Hopefully I will have better stories.
